Police say a 2025 review uncovered fresh forensic opportunities as investigators seek leads in the 26-year-old killings of Susan Kay and Joanne Teterin.
On Monday, the NSW Police Homicide Squad announced a $1 million reward for information about the unsolved 2000 murders of Susan Kay and Joanne Teterin in Newcastle.
Officers discovered the bodies of Kay and Teterin at a Carrington property on May 17, 2000, after the women were last seen alive on Thursday, May 11.
Following a 2003 coronial inquest, the case was referred to the Unsolved Homicide Unit, where investigators finalized a review last year that unearthed fresh forensic opportunities.
Initial investigations suggested the killings were drug-related, but no charges were laid at the time despite assistance from Homicide and Serious Crime Agencies.
