The endless cornfields of the American Midwest have long been a source of inspiration for horror filmmakers. Their obscurity won over Stephen King in his later-filmed short story Children of the Corn, and Adam Cesare, who used them as the backdrop for his novel The Clown in the Corn. Director Eli Craig's feature-length adaptation of the same name is both a conscientious bloodbath and a poignant commentary on a divided society.
