Reform UK Tops Donation Records Amid Cryptocurrency Controversy
On Thursday, Reform UK raised £9.3 million in the first quarter of 2026, outpacing Labour's £4 million and the Conservative Party's £4.2 million, according to Electoral Commission data.
Veteran Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage has prioritized professionalizing Reform UK and securing funding ahead of the 2029 national election. The party topped all national opinion polls since early last year.
Crypto investor Christopher Harborne donated £3 million, while BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo contributed £4 million in the quarter. These donations fueled Reform's lead over rivals declaring roughly £4 million each.
The Labour government announced a £100,000 cap on donations from citizens living abroad, which Reform accused of 'choking off legal funding for its main rival.' Farage faces investigation over a £5 million gift.
Harborne indicated he may challenge the donation limit in court, while Delo plans to relocate to Britain to continue supporting the party. Reform maintains donations comply with parliamentary rules.
