As Estonia continues to remove Soviet symbols from public spaces, a Stalinist-era fresco on the ceiling of the Mere Theatre, a cultural center in Tallinn, has been covered up and the hammer and sickle emblem has been removed, the country's public broadcaster ERR reported.

While previously the ceiling of the Mere Cultural Center hall in Tallinn was covered with a Stalinist painting and the stage had a coat of arms with a hammer and sickle, now the former has been covered and the latter has been removed. However, both red symbols have been preserved.
