New Routemaster refurbishment programme reaches 700 buses - Murky Depths

A move to refurbishment the fleet of New Routemaster buses has topped 700 according to TfL. A report from TfL Commissioner Andy Lord states “the number of new Routemaster mid-life refurbishments now exceeds 700” out of a total fleet of 998. Unlike most buses in London the New Routemasters – procured under former Mayor Boris Johnson – were purchased directly by Transport for London rather than bus operators.
