A vegetation fire broke out at the end of the afternoon, between the villages of Villellongue-dels-Monts and Saint-Génis, in the south of the Pyrénées-Orientales, threatening populated areas.

The flames, driven by strong gusts of wind, also spread to homes in the late afternoon on Saturday.

According to an initial assessment drawn up by the authorities, 30 ha of vegetation have already been burned. 110 ha have been covered. 3 firefighters were slightly injured.
