RUSSIA, JUL 30 – Kremlin claims economic resilience despite US threats to impose up to 100% import duties within 10 days if no progress is made on the Ukrainian conflict, officials said.
- On Wednesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia is taking note of Trump's threats to impose more sanctions and emphasized that the economy operates successfully under Western restrictive measures.
- On July 14, Trump announced that he reduced the 50-day deadline to 10 days for Moscow and Kyiv to reach an agreement.
- Reflecting on Russia's resilience, Peskov said `We have been under a lot of sanctions for quite a long time, and the economy is running smoothly. Of course, we have already developed a certain immunity regarding these measures.`
- Graham indicated US lawmakers may use secondary sanctions and tariffs to pressure countries buying Russian oil and gas, amid Kremlin dismissals of Trump's threats.
