PS Congress: Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol takes the lead in a front against Olivier Faure

The three men, who have officially submitted their orientation text, will be separated by the socialist members from 27 May.

Olivier Faure, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol and Boris Vallaud will table, on Saturday, the orientation texts allowing to define the political line of the party and submitted to the votes of the activists.

The mayor of Rouen was nominated as a candidate for the position of First Secretary of the PS, on behalf of an enlarged motion bringing together the main internal opponents of Olivier Faure. But he was not joined by the boss of the MPs PS Boris Vallaud who will also be a candidate.

Two days away from a national council that will validate the candidates for the leadership of the party, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol should confirm this Thursday 24 April that he will launch well in the battle against Boris Vallaud and outgoing Olivier Faure.

Now united in a single current, the critics of the outgoing first secretary decided to hand over to the mayor of Rouen, who had just been beaten two years ago.

The Socialist Party meets on Saturday 26 April its national council, a stage in the preparation of the congress planned for June in Nancy. Three currents, led by Olivier Faure, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol and Boris Vallaud, have to submit guidance texts in order to compete for the position of first secretary.
