- Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah resigned on May 28, two days after Congress leadership requested the change, following internal competition that led to Shivakumar's earlier appointment as Deputy Chief Minister.
- Bengaluru City Police implemented extensive traffic restrictions across the Central Business District between noon and 8 p.m., while authorities prohibited heavy vehicles from noon to 10 p.m. and established a temporary no-fly zone.
- As the new government takes shape, 90 of 136 Congress legislators are reportedly seeking ministerial berths, while the party intends to balance the cabinet with a mix of veteran and new faces.
- Following the ceremony, Rahul Gandhi will travel to Uttarakhand on June 4 and 5, where he will address a public rally in Almora and interact with party leaders in Dehradun and Mussoorie.
