Governor Pritzker says anti-violence programs are under attack by the Trump administration.
On Thursday, Illinois Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker blasted the Trump administration for eliminating or threatening to eliminate various anti-violence programs, saying, “Public safety is under attack by the Trump administration.” At a South Side event celebrating an investigation into a publicly funded anti-violence program in Chicago neighborhoods, Pritzker listed a long list of cuts and proposed cuts by the administration.

Chicago Flips Red founder Zoe Leigh said Pritzker is the one who is a threat: “He is a threat to the state of Illinois being the governor. Our mayor is a threat to the city of Chicago being the mayor, because they don’t care about the Chicago citizens’ safety. If they did, we wouldn’t be a sanctuary state any more."
