China has begun construction of the world's largest hydroelectric power plant in Tibet. The dam will dam the lower reaches of the Yarlung Tsangpo River and is expected to produce three times more energy than the Three Gorges Dam, which is currently the world's largest hydroelectric power plant, the BBC website reports.
The huge dam is said to be three times as huge as the famous Three Gorges Dam. However, it is located in an area in which both China and India claim power.
