A power outage hit Port Huron early Thursday morning the 20th, leaving nearly 1,000 DTE Energy customers without electricity. Strong winds caused the outage around 4:50 a.m. north of the Blue Water Bridge. Garfield Elementary closed for the day, but other district buildings stayed open.
