Poppy Rocks – Remembering veterans buried in Port Elgin
Katharine Watt fought back tears as she recalled stories of her grandfather who served with the 18th Battalion (Bruce) in WW1. The Listowel resident, and her sister, Betty Fitzsimmons of Tiverton, were at Port Elgin’s Sanctuary Cemetery May 28 to take part in a Service of Remembrance, part of the No Stone Alone, a Canadian Memorial Foundation program to honour and remember Canada’s veterans.
