Since April 2023, the war in Sudan has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths, millions of internally displaced persons and the worst humanitarian crisis today, according to the UN.
At the end of the Angelus prayer, this Sunday, November 2, Leo XIV denounced the abuses committed, especially in the city of El Fasher, Sudan, and urged the international community to mobilize. The sovereign pontiff also asked the faithful to pray for Tanzania, where, he recalled, after the recent elections, the clashes caused many victims. The pope urged all parties to avoid any form of violence and "to take the path of dialogue".
