A variety of events are planned this year for Pony Express Days in McKinleyville. Today (Wednesday) is Pie Day, with a pie-eating contest planned at 7 p.m. at Six Rivers Brewery, 1300 Central Ave. The chili cook-off takes place Thursday at Pierson Park, 1608 Pickett Road.
