JD Vance Leads Early 2028 GOP Primary Poll With 36%
A national poll shows Vance with broad support among Republicans and right-leaning independents, while 17% of voters remain undecided.
Vice President JD Vance leads the 2028 GOP presidential primary field with 36% support among Republicans and right-leaning Independents, according to The Center Square Voters Voice Poll.
Conducted from June 1-4, 2026, Noble Predictive Insights surveyed 915 Republicans and 149 right-leaning Independents to assess the field two years before the primary season.
Marco Rubio emerged as the next choice with 17% support, followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at 7%, as both candidates gained ground following the exclusion of Trump.
Forty-Three percent of 18-29-year-olds rallied behind Vance, while Rubio captured 22% support among those with post-graduate schooling and 17% of Republicans overall.
Seventeen percent of voters remain undecided for 2028, while Trump expressed "zero interest" in running, though he noted he would "never 100% rule it out down the line.
