Poll: Quebecers think Legault should step down before an election

Summary
With his approval ratings at an all-time low, Premier François Legault is insisting he’ll be ready to run in the next election. However, 74 per cent of Quebecers believe he should step down before the next election. That’s according to a SOM poll conducted for La Presse and published Wednesday morning. According to the poll, 31 per cent of Quebecers believe the premier should leave before the next election, and 43 per cent think he should step down after finishing out his term. Only 16 per cent of those surveyed believe that Legault should run in the 2026 election to seek another term.
