Police open murder investigation after death of three-month-old baby boy from head injury
Two suspects from March were re-arrested on murder charges after the baby died from a head injury five days following the incident, police said.
- After January 8, Cambridgeshire Police launched a murder investigation into three-month-old Atijus Elertaite, who died from a head injury, police said.
- Two people were arrested after officers responded to a St John's Chase address shortly after 11am, police said.
- Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote incident 124 of January 3 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
- The suspects were re-arrested on Thursday on suspicion of murder and, police said, remain in Cambridgeshire Police custody.
- Detective Inspector Verity McCann said the local community will be shocked and deeply saddened and urged people not to speculate on social media as the inquiry continues.
