Police detain man with bow and arrow near Capitol
WASHINGTON, D.C., JUL 16 – Nolan R. Churan, 23, was arrested carrying multiple weapons including firearms and medieval blades near the Capitol, facing several charges with no known link to Congress, U.S. Capitol Police said.
- On July 16, U.S. Capitol Police arrested a man after discovering a bow and arrow inside his car parked near the Capitol on Pennsylvania Avenue.
- Officers became suspicious due to the unusual vehicle having a tricycle strapped to the roof, which led to a closer inspection revealing the bow, arrow, and empty gun holster.
- The vehicle owner was located just outside the Capitol's north barricade and detained after admitting to possessing guns in addition to the bow and arrow inside the vehicle.
