HCMC Provides Update on Annunciation Church Shooting
The shooter died by self-inflicted gunshot; 18 children were injured and two children, ages 8 and 10, were killed in the attack on August 27.
- On Monday, Minneapolis police said two children, 8-year-old Fletcher Merkel and 10-year-old Harper Moyski, were killed and 18 others injured in the Aug. 27 Annunciation Catholic Church shooting, totaling 20 victims.

- Hospital officials reported that seven injured children ages 6 to 15 were admitted to Children's Minnesota, with six discharged as of Friday; Hennepin Healthcare said four patients remain hospitalized, including three children and one adult.
- Annunciation parish announced it will remain closed while other Minneapolis public schools increase patrols; Minneapolis Police Assistant Chief Christopher Gaiters confirmed police have spoken with the shooter’s mother, and some students, including one at Southwest High School, report fear about returning.
