INDIA, JUL 25 – The scheme offers up to Rs 15,000 to first-time EPFO employees and incentives to employers, aiming to create over 3.5 crore new jobs in two years, officials said.
- On August 1, 2025, the Ministry of Labour and Employment will launch PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana nationwide, backed by Rs 99,446 crore, as announced Friday.
- Earlier this month, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the scheme, aiming to generate over 3.5 crore jobs over two years.
- Employees registering for the first time with the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation receive up to ₹15,000 in two installments, while employers earn incentives up to ₹3,000 per month; the second installment requires completing a financial literacy programme.
- In practice, 1.92 crore first-time beneficiaries will join the workforce, while Direct Benefit Transfer via the Aadhar Bridge Payment System ensures timely disbursal of incentives.
- Beyond the initial two years, incentives for the manufacturing sector will extend to promote long-term employment and support economic growth.
