The Israeli government is considering plans to build 1,670 new housing units in illegal Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said late Wednesday.

Twelve Western countries have paved the way for new trade restrictions against settlement products. At this stage, the loss of profits should remain modest for the Hebrew state, which is more concerned about the degradation of the "made in Israel" label among European buyers.
Trade restrictions on Jewish settlements in the West Bank are growing into wider international pressure, deepening the rift with Washington, while Israeli countermeasures show the move was not seen as symbolic.
The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)-affiliated Council for Combating the Separation Wall and Jewish Settlements reported that Israeli authorities are considering 13 plans involving the construction of 1,670 new housing units in the occupied West Bank.
