“I miss you already!” wrote another member of the legendary Kapa-Pepe duo.
During his four-decade career, he directed a number of theater plays and acted in countless stage adaptations, but his name was made famous by Miklós Jancsó's films: as Pepé in Nekem lámpást adot kémbem az Úr Pesten (1999), and with Zoltán Mucsi, who played Kopa, he immediately gained a place of honor among the most iconic couples in Hungarian cinema. Several joint films were made with the two actors in the lead roles:
“Marriage is a wonderful word for our relationship. But I would rather say that we have a deep, deep friendship that connects us in a thousand ways,” Péter Scherer told HVG Extra Pszichológia magazine about his decade-long relationship with Zoltán Mucsi. Pepe, one half of the emblematic acting duo, died on Tuesday at the age of 64.
