The Philomath High School softball team got off to a rough start Monday in the Battle of the Beach at Newport with losses of 16-0 to Pendleton and 17-0 to Estacada. In the team’s first game at the tournament, the Warriors started to get into a hole in the second inning when the Backaroos pushed six runs across. Pendleton added another four runs in the third and six in the fourth. The game went four innings. Two players had hits for the Warriors.…
