PCRS launches operation against fake lawyer scam

The PCRS (Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul) launched Operation Charlatan this Thursday (March 27, 2025), which investigates fraudsters who were carrying out scams by posing as fake lawyers. The operation was supported by the Civil Police of Ceará.  Delegate Luciane Bertoletti stated that during the investigations, more than 30 victims were identified in Porto Alegre (RS) and Canoas (RS), who together suffered losses of more than R$700,000.
