Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow Dies of Cancer
A countywide special election will choose the rest of Farrow’s term after County Board Chairman James Heinrich takes over interim duties.
Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow died Tuesday at age 61 following a long battle with cancer, county officials announced Wednesday.
Diagnosed in 2024 with Stage 4 mucinous adenocarcinoma, Farrow publicly documented his treatment journey to raise awareness and support other cancer survivors.
A dedicated Republican who served as Waukesha County Executive since 2015, Farrow followed a political path established by his mother, former Lieutenant Governor Margaret Farrow.
County Board Chairman James Heinrich will serve as acting county executive, with the Waukesha County Board expected to confirm an interim successor within 30 days.
Elected officials from both parties praised Farrow's bipartisan cooperation, with Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley noting their partnership was built on mutual respect and honesty.
