Özgür Özel, the leader of the NEW Party, participated in the hazelnut harvest in the Arsin district of Trabzon and drew attention to the problems of the producers. Arguing that hazelnut prices do not cover production costs, Özel stated that FİSKOBİRLİK and ÇAYKUR should be strengthened, adding, "It is essential that the field opened to global giants is now opened to producers from the Black Sea region."
