LA Police Chase: Wild Pursuit of Burglary Suspect Ends on 405 Freeway
The suspect crashed head-on into a California Highway Patrol cruiser after a prolonged chase across the San Fernando Valley, officials said.
On Friday, a burglary suspect ended a roughly 90-minute police chase across the San Fernando Valley by crashing a black 2025 Honda Accord head-on into a California Highway Patrol SUV on the 405 Freeway.
Authorities said the pursuit began in North Hollywood around 10:15 a.m. Friday, with the driver leading officers on and off the 101 Freeway and through several Valley neighborhoods before attempting to flee.
During the lengthy pursuit, the driver stopped briefly for gas in North Hills, engaged with a motorcyclist at an intersection, and collided with a pickup truck in Granada Hills while driving on a shredded tire.
After crashing, the suspect abandoned the vehicle and ran down an embankment before officers quickly tackled him; a CHP officer injured in the crash was transported for medical treatment.
Investigators have not yet released the suspect's name or specific details regarding the burglary investigation, leaving the motive and potential charges unclear as the case proceeds.
