Over £20K raised for Glasgow DJ legend after 'untreatable' brain tumour diagnosis
GLASGOW, SCOTLAND, JUL 15 – Keith McIvor’s fundraiser has raised over £57,000 to cover private nursing, therapies, and palliative care after his glioblastoma diagnosis led to rapid health decline.
- Keith McIvor, aka JD Twitch and one half of the DJ duo Optimo, was diagnosed earlier this month with glioblastoma, an aggressive, inoperable brain tumour.
- His condition worsened swiftly over several weeks, impairing his ability to communicate, move freely, and care for himself, resulting in the necessity for round-the-clock nursing support in a private care facility.
- In response, a crowdfunder launched on July 15 to support his urgent care needs has surpassed its £50,000 goal, raising over £90,000 for nursing, therapy, and transport.
- Despite his condition, Keith can communicate patiently and remains present to loved ones, while his family and friends provide dedicated support and strive to honour his wishes.
- The fundraiser will also aid charities and ensure Keith lives his remaining time with comfort and dignity, while Jonnie Wilkes will carry forward Optimo's legacy.
