Orlando City 2, Real Salt Lake 1
French forward Antoine Griezmann scored two second-half goals Saturday night to lift Orlando City to a 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake, ending a four-match winless streak in all competitions.
Real Salt Lake took an early lead in the 36th minute when midfielder Dominik Marczuk converted a cross from defender Sam Junqua, leaving Orlando trailing 1-0 at halftime.
Griezmann equalized in the 53rd minute after forward Daryl Dike's attempt was blocked, then netted the 81st-minute winner. Orlando City controlled 59.6% of possession throughout the match.
The result snapped Orlando City's three-game league winless skid and moved the club into ninth place in the Eastern Conference. Real Salt Lake extended its winless streak to seven matches.
"It's never easy starting off with a negative mark like that," Griezmann said of the halftime deficit. The Lions travel to Minnesota United next Saturday.
