Anthony Hankerson’s TD Run in 4th Quarter Gives Oregon State a 10-7 Win over Washington State

On Saturday, Oregon State Beavers rallied to beat Washington State Cougars 10-7 at Reser Stadium as senior running back Anthony Hankerson ran 25 times for 132 yards and scored a 1-yard touchdown.
After an 0-7 start the Beavers fired coach Trent Bray and promoted Rob Akey as interim head coach, while redshirt sophomore Gabarri Johnson started at quarterback but exited with a foot injury before Maalik Murphy finished the game.
Oregon State's defense intercepted Washington State quarterback Zevi Eckhaus twice, including two by safety Jaheim Patterson, and combined for six sacks, pitching a second-half shutout.
By improving to 2-7 the Beavers earned a two-game winning streak and secured their first FBS win in almost a year.
The teams meet again in Pullman on Nov. 29 for the season finale that will determine the two-team Pac-12 champion, and Washington State hosts Louisiana Tech on Nov. 15.
