Opus-developed 289,080-square-foot industrial building in Merrillville nearly 80% leased
Opus announced that Merrillville Industrial, a 289,080-square-foot Class-A speculative industrial building at 8719 Mississippi Street in Merrillville, Indiana, is nearly 80% leased following two recent tenant signings. Vision Wheel, a national distributor of automotive wheels, is relocating their Chicagoland division from Portage, Indiana, into 75,430 square feet on the north end of Merrillville Industrial. A second tenant, a nationwide supplier of water and wastewater infrastructure products, is relocating into 151,740 square feet on the south end, more than doubling their footprint. Both companies sought newer, more functional space near their employee bases and with room to accommodate future growth. That interest extends to the remaining 61,910 square feet, which Ryan Klink, managing director with Cushman & Wakefield, is marketing for lease. Opus was the developer, design-builder, architect and structural engineer of record for the building and is completing tenant improvements for both customers, who will be operational in their new spaces before the end of the year.
