Brabus Is Building a 900-HP Mercedes-AMG G63 Pickup Truck With an Enlarged V-8
Brabus says the pickup reaches 62 mph in 3.7 seconds and tops out at 149 mph, with torque electronically limited to protect the drivetrain.
- The Brabus P900 Rocket Edition, a pickup truck based on the Mercedes-AMG G63, has been announced. This latest build transforms the classic SUV into an even more ostentatious vehicle.
- Known for selling ostentatious builds to G-wagen owners, Brabus is happy to offer something even more audacious for a price. The Mercedes-Benz G-class prints money partly because it is one of the most audacious things available new from a dealership.
- Engineers bumped the standard V-8 displacement up to 4.5 liters and brought total power up from 577 to 900 horsepower. The engine produces peak torque of 922 pound-feet, electronically limited at 774 pound-feet to protect drivetrain components.
- Brabus claims the pickup reaches 62 miles per hour quicker than the standard G63, and it matches the top speed of the performance-packaged SUV-shaped G63 at 149 mph.
- While the pickup bed on the P900 Rocket Edition is unlikely to haul lumber, it creates a distinctive shape for buyers in Los Angeles and Miami. The P900 comes behind only the Bodo coupe in the company's lineup.
