The Office of the Ombudsman of Panama has called for an "urgent dialogue" between the Government and indigenous demonstrators in Darién province to put an end to the riots during the weekend in the Arimae area, where thousands of people have expressed opposition to a bill that could lead to a restriction of workers' rights.
The Ombudsman called for the restoration of social peace, especially in Bocas del Toro and Darién, which are the two points where the situation has become critical.
