On Saturday 30 August, a new fire ravaged 35 hectares of maquis in the commune of Oletta. This is the fourth time this month that the village is confronted with vegetation fires. A situation that is particularly disturbing to the mayor, Jean-Pierre Leccia, especially since, this weekend, the flames have been close to several houses.
At around 12.45 p.m. on Saturday, a fire of vegetation was declared in the town of Oletta, near the Leclerc settlement. About 2 hectares are already covered by flames and houses are under threat. The control system is currently mobilising 70 firefighters and the communal civil security reserve of Oletta.
