Okinawa Has 1,137 Centenarians, the Oldest of Whom Is Kiyuna Shizuko, Born in the Meiji Era, at 113 Years Old

Ahead of Respect for the Aged Day on September 15th, Okinawa Prefecture announced on the 12th that the number of people aged 100 or over in the prefecture has reached 1,137 (102 men and 1,035 women). This is a decrease of 47 people from last year. The oldest person, as in last year, is Shizuko Kiyuna (113) of Chatan Town, the only person in the prefecture born in the Meiji era, and the top 20 people are all women.
