Oil prices for the third consecutive day fell to the lowest level in 16 weeks at the Wednesday settlement, with government closures in the United States fuelling fears about the economy. Brent's future contracts declined 68 cents, equivalent to 1.0 per cent to be recorded at the 65.35 bucks a barrel, while West Texas's US broker's crude fell 59 cents, or 0.9 per cent to $61.75.
