On the 1st, NTT held a ceremony in Tokyo to mark the change of the company name from "Nippon Telegraph and Telephone" to "NTT." The change was made to the company name from its better-known nickname in order to expand its overseas business. The company will focus on growth areas together with the NTT Data Group, which it plans to make a wholly owned subsidiary.
