After investing billions in quantum research, the Novo Nordisk Foundation is now taking the next step in developing the critical technology. Next year, the foundation will open the doors to a factory in Copenhagen that will produce advanced quantum chips that can create unprecedented computing power.
The foundation that owns the Danish pharmaceutical group Novo Nordisk – one of the world's leading manufacturers of weight loss drugs – is investing in a new factory for the production of chips for quantum computers.
Novo Nordisk's Foundation Is Building a Quantum Chip Factory in Copenhagen
The Novo Nordisk Foundation is building a $62 million quantum chip factory in Copenhagen, called Quantum Foundry Copenhagen, set to open around 2027. It's part of a broader DKK 2.9 billion quantum push meant to give Denmark a fault-tolerant quantum computer by 2034 and give Europe its own quantum chip supply chain.
