The Physical Society of Japan has established "Physics Day" this year. November 3rd. It is the day in 1949 when Hideki Yukawa was selected as the first Japanese person to receive the Nobel Prize. The day is also named after "nihonium," the element with atomic number 113, which was discovered in Japan.
