It has been belatedly confirmed that a North Korean cargo ship carrying 4,600 tons of coal sank in Chinese waters late last year. Although North Korea stated that the vessel was en route from Nampo Port to Chongjin Port when the accident occurred, the actual site of the accident was waters near Zhoushan in Zhejiang Province, China, where coal transshipment frequently takes place.
