New category 1 cyclone to affect Vanuatu

Cyclone forecasters at the Fiji Metservice have confirmed to RNZ Pacific the system will be named Seru on Tuesday.

No direct impact of TC Seru on Fiji

Tropical Cyclone Seru will not be a direct threat to Fiji. Fiji Meteorological Service states TC Seru is forecasted to track Southeast, and the centre is expected to remain to the far West of Fiji. TC Seru is forecasted to remain in open waters before weakening. TD10F upgraded to tropical cyclone

Tropical Depression 10F has now been upgraded to Category 1 Cyclone Seru. Nadi Weather Office Director Misaeli Funaki says the system attained tropical cyclone intensity at around 3 pm today.
