New Madrid Police Chief Resigns
New Madrid’s police chief resigned yesterday. In a letter posted on social media, Shane Grissom wrote that the decision to step down was a difficult one but best for him and his family. He will continue to serve as Fire Chief and as a part-time patrol officer. The city announced his successor is J.D. Green – a U.S. Army veteran and one who has served in a various law enforcement roles for 30 years.
