Major Car Brand's Smallest Motor Unveiled with New Look… & Will Be Hybrid-Only
- Toyota unveiled an updated Aygo X with a new hybrid powertrain, refreshed exterior, and upgraded interior launching later in 2025.
- The update follows Toyota’s decision to replace the 71bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine with a 114bhp 1.5-litre hybrid system borrowed from the Yaris and Yaris Cross.
- The Aygo X now features sharp LED headlights, a redesigned front bumper, extended front overhang by 76mm, and enhanced noise insulation for comfort.
- Toyota states the new hybrid setup achieves 86 g/km CO2 emissions, improves acceleration to under 10 seconds 0-62 mph, and offers fuel economy beyond 70mpg.
- The petrol-only Aygo X will be discontinued as the hybrid-only model offers lower emissions and could attract more buyers in the growing A-segment market.
