Italy plans to ban the use in public places of veils that completely cover the face, such as the burka and the niqab, with fines of 300 to 3,000 euros, as recorded in a bill presented on Wednesday by Brothers of Italy, the party of the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni. It is a text with five articles “against fundamentalism and Islamic separatism”, as announced by the formation in press conference.
In schools, offices and shops, the governing party of Giorgia Meloni wants to ban the wearing of burkas and niqabs in the future. Thus, "cultural separatism" is to be combated.
