HUNTINGTON — Marshall University researchers, working with an international investigative team from Chili and Canada, have identified a group of fossils as belonging to a new genus of sea creature unlike any previously known, the university announced Wednesday.

A group of elasmosaurs fossils has finally been described as belonging to a new "very peculiar" genus of this sea monster, unlike any other known until now. Long neck and 12 meters long, Traskasaura sandrae -which has been given its scientific name in this new study - possessed heavy, sharp and robust teeth, ideal for crushing.
