The Italian government, with financial support from the European Commission, is reportedly ready to establish a Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC/RCC) in Benghazi, eastern Libya, controlled by General Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA).
