New alum treatment to manage algal blooms on Lake Carmi

FRANKLIN — The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation is working on a major environmental restoration project to control phosphorus pollution and decrease toxic cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms on Lake Carmi. The project started the week of Sept. 22.
