NBA All Star Starters Are Out Which Means It's Time To Debate Who Got Snubbed
The NBA adopted a weighted voting system combining fan, player, and media votes to select All-Star starters for the new U.S. vs. The World format.
- On Monday, Jan. 19 the NBA unveiled the East and West starters for the 2026 All-Star Game, naming 10 players, five from each conference, ahead of the Feb. 15 event at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
- The league adopted a United States versus the World format and removed positions from the ballot this year, with fans voting 50%, media 25%, and NBA players 25%, while Jayson Tatum is sidelined.
- A tiebreaker decided Victor Wembanyama earned the starter spot over Anthony Edwards after they tied with a weighted score of 5.75 and Wembanyama led fan voting by 4,505 votes.
- LeBron James was not named a starter for the first time in 22 years but could still join as a reserve or injury replacement, with at least 15 players starting on Feb. 15 in the three-team format.
- Reserves will be announced on Feb. 1, games will feature 12-minute quarters in a round-robin leading to the championship game, while an investigation involving the LA Clippers, Steve Ballmer, and Kawhi Leonard could overshadow the weekend at Intuit Dome, Inglewood, California.
