- A video showed Khan waving the flag despite being asked to stop by others present.
- Assistant Commissioner of Police Piyoosh Rai stated that Khan appeared unaware of the seriousness of his actions and was charged under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 170 and 126 for disturbing public peace.
